China and Japan have had many conflicts including the Nanking Massacre. Nanking is a city in China and at the time had a populations of about 1 million people. The Nanking Massacre happened in 1937, and it happened over a six week period. While two Japanese naval fleet occupied Nanking they raped, murdered, and stole from the people living in Nanking. Historians believe about 300,00 Chinese were killed and about 20,00 were raped. Some people believe the numbers are actually up in the 80,00's but, the Japanese government says and still does to this day that everyone is exaggerating the numbers and it was not that many. The Nanking massacre was a war crime and later trials were held.
